Vihiga Queens vs Ogande Gilrs friendly match

Magui Secondary School grounds today played host to a friendly match between Vihiga Queens and Homa Bay County’s Ogande Girls School.

The immediate Homa Bay County Safaricom Chapa Dimba champions arrived at the venue a few minutes to noon, unsure of what awaited them.

Emily Morang’a sent an early warning to the visitors with a hat trick, followed by Striker Tumaini Waliaula’s brace that dimed the opponent’s hopes. Skipper Maurine Ater cemented the Queen’s victory with a superb goal before Ogande secured a consolation goal in the dying minutes.

Today’s build up match played a crucial role in sharpening VQFC’s skills ahead of their weekend fixture against Madira Soccer Assassins.

In an interview with Vihiga Queens Media, seasoned defender Phelistus Kadari expressed her satisfaction in today’s friendly, stating that it has granted the team a fitness test ahead of the weekend FKF Women’s Premier League fixture.

“We continued to prepare well for our remaining fixtures, and we must finish in style. I take this opportunity to appreciate our team leadership for organizing such friendly matches that have played a big part in advancing our match preparedness,” said the 2023 WCL CECAFA-Qualifier’s best right-back.

Kadari also urged her team mates to continue with the high morale exhibited in the past, a move that has seen the team win a series of matches.
