Fastest Rising Women’s Soccer Club in Kenya
The VQFC idea was conceptualized by Vihiga County football lovers during the first Vihiga County Directorate of Sports Tournament dubbed the “Governor’s Cup”.
The Governor’s Cup Tournament brought together the winners of that year’s Constituency Tournaments in a Tournament that took place at Kaimosi Complex in December 2013. Lifting the Trophy unbeaten in the Women Category was Kidundu Ladies FC which was then captained by Gertrude Aseyo.
Kidundu Ladies FC was started in 2010 by Michael Senelwa Ogada (Team Manager) and Boniface Nyamunyamu (Head Coach) and had over their four years of existence until December, 2013 in spite of their informal operations won most of the local community tournaments.
