The Vihiga Queens FC team is set to travel to Cairo, Egypt tomorrow ahead of the inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
Assistant coach Boniface Nyamunyamuh has made it clear that they have prepared well and are ready for the tournament.
The coach said it is a great opportunity for the team to play at the inaugural tournament and hopes that they will rise to the occasion. “We have prepared well and will take every match seriously,” added Nyamunyamuh.
Besides Vihiga Queens FC who qualified after winning the CECAFA Women’s Champions League, seven other teams will take part in the tournament slated for November 5-19th in Cairo.
Striker Jentrix Shikangwa Milimu, voted 2021 CAF Champions League CECAFA qualifier Most Valuable Player said they are determined to play well at the tournament. “This is a good chance for us to showcase our talent and we shall give it our best,” added the striker.
Vihiga Queens will start with a match against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on November 6th. They will face Morocco’s Asfar Club in the second group game on November 9th, before taking on Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in the last group match three days later.

Group B: Vihiga Queens FC (Kenya), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Asfar Club (Morocco), Rivers United (Nigeria)
