CECAFA giants Vihiga Queens have exited the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League on-going in Cairo, Egypt.

The Queens lost their last Group B match 4-0 to Nigeria’s Rivers Angels FC in a match played at the 30 June Stadium this evening.

Substitue Chiamaka Okwuchukwu netted two penalties before Damilola Koku and Gift Monday also got their names on the score sheet to give the Nigerian side their first win in the inaugural tournament.

Not even the substitutions made by coach Charles Odere helped matters as the Vihiga Queens team failed to defend well.

Vihiga Queens defeat marks the end of their campaign in the tournament, while Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and ASFAR from Morocco who drew goalless qualified for the semi finals stage.

The Kenyan side started the tournament sufferinf a 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, before they revived their hopes with a 2-0 win against ASFAR FC.

Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies FC will now face ASFAR in one of the semi final matches, while Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies take on Malabo Kings (Equatorial Guinea).
