The Vihiga Queens vs Ulinzi Starlets KWPL game was the most anticipated clash of Game-week 13 owing to the fact that the two clubs are bonafide title contenders.

With Vihiga playing host, the match kicked off at exactly 3:00 PM on Sunday 10th April at the Mumias Sports Complex which was packed with majority of fans backing the home team.

Queens’ right back Phelistus Kadari gave an early win signal at the 40th minute after driving a free-kick into the opponent’s goal to give the Legacy Makers a first half 1:0 lead.

The half-time break rejuvenated the soldiers and they came back stronger after the breather conducting raid after raid but the Queen’s defense was able to repulse them until the 85th minute when their efforts were rewarded with a leveller for a fulltime score of 1-1.

Following the draw, Vihiga Queens still leads the KWPL log with 35 points, 9 points ahead of Ulinzi Starlets in second place.

Vihiga’s next assignment will be away against Trans Nzoia Falcons
on 17th April at the Kitale ASK Showground from 3 PM.
