With yet another looming weekend without a Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) match for Vihiga Queens Football Club (VQFC), the team’s Technical Bench (TB) have lined up a series of friendly matches to keep the girls fit in readiness for their next fixtures.

On Saturday, 9th March 2024, the team will be travelling to Mbihi Girls High School grounds for the first build up match against Kilingili Girls Soccer Team as from 10 AM, then later on Queens will lock horns with Ibubi Girls Soccer Team as from 12 noon. To wrap up the day, Kilingili Girls Soccer Team will play against Ibubi Girls Soccer Team as from 3 PM.

Vihiga Queens Team Manager Festus Akaranga has said that plans for the two matches have been completed and he is optimistic that the numerous build up outings are ultimately preparing the team and the Technical Bench for their future fixtures.

“We welcome both Kilingili and Ibubi Girls on Saturday at Mbihi Girls Grounds and they should come prepared knowing that we shall not take anything to chance,” averred Akaranga.

Shot-stopper Sophie Akinyi reiterates that the build up matches are so far playing a significant role in sharpening her skills between the posts as well as her colleague in-field players, affirming that as players they should treat all matches coming their way with utmost seriousness.
