The FKF Women Cup 2024 enters Round of 16 this weekend with a series of exciting clashes lined up.

Top on order will be the much anticipated first time meeting between FKF Women Division One side Kisiwa Starlets taking on Vihiga Queens FC. The Saturday, 23rd March, 2024 – 1100hrs early kick off encounter at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, will be streamed live courtesy of FKF Digital Media platforms.

It’s worthy noting that Vihiga Queens FC was among the 10 teams that got a bye from the Cup’s Preliminary Round, that saw 12 teams face off, out of the 22 that registered for the competition.

According to Queens’ tactician Boniface Nyamunyamu, the match comes in as a interesting test for his side, following a long break from organized competitive schedule.

“We have been out of action from the FKF Women Premier League fixtures for about a month now and therefore we really have to put in meaningful effort to get back over the line, perhaps as a springboard to the future fixtures execution,” Said the Head Coach.

However Nyamunyamu affirms that his charges are well prepared, save for a few panel beating sessions this week ahead of the Cup match.

“We cannot underate Kisiwa just because they play in a tier lower than ours. Instead, we shall take on our worthy opponents with the seriousness that is deserved. We look forward to clinching the FKF CUP title this year,” Averred ‘Nyamuh’ as famously known in the football spheres.
