Following last week’s elimination from The FKF Women’s Cup by Kisiwa Starlets in Bungoma, Vihiga Queens have shifted focus to the upcoming FKF Women Premier League fixtures.

Upon resumption of the league after a short break, the four-time Kenya Women Premier League champions will be travelling to Nairobi to square it out with University-based Zetech Sparks in less than a fortnight.

As part of the ongoing training preparations, Head Coach Nyamunyamu is continously tightening all the departments, with maximum focus being put on goal-hunting and good defending, all in a bid to reclaim the KWPL top spot.

“The team is determined to fight harder. We have and are continuously putting in sufficient work to improve everyone and all departments are on high alert. There is good will across support functions and that really counts. We shall deliver,” Affirms Nyamunyamu.

The team’s Top scorer Tumaini Waliaula is rejuvenated and promises a great come back to the league’s top scorers sheet. Waliaula is also determined to surpass last year’s record by the end of the season.

On her part, shot-stopper Sophie Akinyi assures the Vihiga Queens fraternity of the goal keeping department’s players efforts to yarn for and maintain clean sheet records.
