The CECAFA giants and Kenyan representatives Vihiga Queens FC will take to the field on Saturday in their opening match of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2021against Mamelodi Sundowns in Cairo, Egypt.

But as the Queens prepare for kick-off, star player Jentrix Shikangwa Milimu has set her eyes on finishing as top scorer.

“My target is to score as many goals as possible so that I can help my team win and also become the top scorer of the tournament,” said a determined Shikangwa after training in Cairo on Thursday.

Shikangwa who was voted best player at the Zonal CECAFA Women’s Champions League and finished with seven goals said they will have to work as a team in every match that they play. “We are playing against other champions and so we should be cautious,” added Shikangwa.

She also made it clear that playing in the Champions League will be a good platform to showcase their talents to the entire world that could secure them chance sign with team abroad.

“By us participating in this continental tournament, the whole world will be watching us and so we need to up our game and market ourselves,” added the 20-year star.
