The head coach of Vihiga Queens FC Charles Okere has said his team is  more motivated after registering their first win in the on-going TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.

Okere’s team humbled Morocco’s ASFAR FC 2-0 in a Group B match played at the Al Salaam Stadium on Tuesday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt.

“We are very happy for this win against ASFAR and this win will motivate us in moving forward for the next match,” added Okere.

He made it clear that this tournament is for champions and every match is a final. “We are are going to keep preparing for the next game against Rivers Angels that we also need to win,” added a confident Okere.

Vihiga Queens started the campaign with a narrow w-0 defeat to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

The CECAFA giants are now second in Group B behind the South African side. Vihiga Queens FC stand a chance to make it to the semi final stage if they pick a good result against Rivers Angels FC on Friday.
